#100DaysOfSunsets

If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.

“Eventually”

My good friend Barack Obama used to remind me often how progress is best viewed over a longer time frame. Lately I’ve had so many “Why isn’t {insert all the problems} fixed already?” moments, and those accumulated moments are taking a toll on my mental health.

How do I focus on fixing what needs fixed, while maintaining my endurance for walking down the path?

For the past couple weeks, photography has been my endurance practice. Five to fifteen minutes a day of watching the sun go down. A sunset picture isn’t a magic fix – mental health struggles don’t work that way. But this daily meditation is a welcome respite from the chaos.

What is your endurance practice?
